COUNTRY GUIDE KENYA

Private jet charter to Kenya

When it comes to travelling in Kenya there are seemingly two sides, safari and beach, and most will combine the two. Kenya is synonymous with safari, with the great sprawling expanse of the Maasai Mara, the iconic Maasai people and the multitude of species that roam the plains. But there are also the beach resorts, Mombasa being the most popular with tourists, but offering great beaches and plenty of luxury resorts to soothe away the rigours of an exhilarating safari.

Most travelling to Kenya will head to the Maasai Mara, especially during the Great Migration which happens from July through to November after the vast herds of animals have left the Serengeti. There is an array of options when it comes to visiting the Maasai Mara, with everything from small bush camps to luxurious lodges with indulgent spas. You can visit a Maasai village and learn more about these amazing people, watch zebras and wildebeest make the perilous journey across the Mara River, or glide above them on a hot air balloon.

Away from the Maasai Mara you’ll find a host of other game reserves well worth a visit. Tsavo, Amboseli, Meru and Samburu are some of the most popular, any plenty of people will head to one of the great lakes as well for a completely different side to Kenya game viewing. There are many different ways to enjoy the wildlife with most opting for two game drives a day – one before breakfast and one after lunch – with added extras such as bush walks, canoe trips, light aircraft flights and hot air balloon flights available in various parks. Tasavo is Kenya’s biggest park and is separated into two sides; here you’ll find varied terrain and plenty of wildlife, including elephants coated in red dust, giving them a very distinct appearance. Amboseli is famed for its vast herds of elephants and it’s backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro whilst Meru and Samburu are quieter and drier, home to wildlife not often seen in the other parks.

Many people combine a safari with a beach stay, and Mombasa is the gateway to Kenya’s beautiful coast. Starting with Malindi in the north and heading down to the white sand of Diani, there are plenty of resorts to choose from. Each sits upon swathes of white sand giving way to azure waters teeming with life. Not only is the area ideal for swimmers, snorkelers and divers, it also has some great windsurfing, water-skiing and kite surfing. If you visit between February and March you may even get the chance to spot a whale shark offshore.

So whether you fancy going on safari or simply chilling on a beach, charter a private jet to Kenya and do it in style. Chartering allows you to make the most of your time on the ground, instead of spending it on lengthy road transfers or sat in airports.
