Childress Municipal Airport is found within Childress County, which is in the southern US state of Texas. The airport is open to the public and currently owned by the City of Childress. The airport was previously known as Childress Army Airfield, when it was opened in 1942, and was used as a training base by the United States Army Air Forces. There are two asphalt runways at the airport, the longest of which is over 1800m in length.
