Leading aircraft charter and ACMI leasing specialist, Air Charter Service, has secured a Danish Airbus A320, on a wet lease agreement, to create additional capacity for Uganda Airlines during its busy winter period, which commenced last week.
Scott Collier, President ACS Leasing, commented: “We’re delighted to be able to procure the aircraft for Uganda Airlines. The Airbus A320 will be provided by Danish Air Transport (DAT) – a long-term partner of ours and globally-respected ACMI provider, known for its partnerships with leading flag carriers. This counter seasonal and cross regional contract highlights the importance of having experienced team members locally who are aware of potential cultural and political differences that sometimes need to be navigated.
“Following a lengthy and competitive tender process, this contract underscores ACS’s commitment to delivering flexible, high-quality solutions. We are extremely pleased to be collaborating with DAT and to support Uganda Airlines this winter season, and beyond. It is a great achievement, specifically by our Middle East and Africa team. The lease saw the aircraft position from Billund to Entebbe and begin operations on Monday 25th November.
Jenifer Bamuturaki, CEO of Uganda Airlines, commented: “We are thrilled to be cooperating with Air Charter Service, who found the ideal solution for us, in Danish Air Transport’s A320. The operations started last week and are running smoothly.”
Robert Rungholm, CCO of Danish Air Transport, said of the deal: “DAT are delighted to be working with ACS on this exciting project with Uganda Airlines.”
