CES – Consumer Technology Association
When: 9-12 Jan
Where: Las Vegas Convention Centre, Nevada
One of the world’s most influential tech events, CES brings together over 1,600 companies from across the globe to showcase the newest digital technologies.
Africa Cup of Nations
When: 13 Jan – 11 Feb
Where: Ivory Coast
This biannual football tournament pitches 24 African teams against each other. Current champions Senegal will defend their title after beating Egypt on penalties in the 2021 final.
Sundance Film Festival
When: 18-28 Jan
Where: Park City, Utah
Sundance returns to the snowy ski resort for its 40th anniversary, gathering film lovers and industry insiders for a packed calendar of screenings, parties and concerts.
Boot Düsseldorf
When: 20-28 Jan
Where: Messe Düsseldorf, Germany
This huge indoor boat show draws around 4,000 exhibitors from over 50 countries for a nine-day exhibition, with everything from kayaks to superyachts on display.
Venice Carnival
When: 27 Jan – 13 Feb
Where: Venice, Italy
Venice’s famous carnival dazzles with opulent masked balls, flamboyant parades and glitzy events in the two weeks leading up to Shrove Tuesday (also known as Fat Tuesday).

World Aquatics Championships
When: 2-18 Feb
Where: Doha, Qatar
The biennial swimming tournament brings together 2,600 swimmers to compete in six different water sports at the Aspire Dome, Hamad Aquatic Centre and Old Port of Doha.
Six Nations Championship
When: 3 Feb – 16 Mar

Grammy Awards

Sanremo Music Festival
When: 6-10 Feb
Where: Teatro Ariston, Sanremo, Italy
Held annually in the seaside town of Sanremo, Italy’s most prestigious music contest has launched the careers of famous singers like Andrea Bocelli and Eros Ramazzotti.
The Big Game
When: 11 Feb
Where: Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada
One of the most-watched sporting events of the year is a face-off between the winners of the American Football Conference and National Football Conference.
Mardi Gras

London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks

London kicks off Europe’s spring/summer fashion week season with a host of catwalks and events, followed by style extravaganzas in Milan and Paris.
Daytona 500
When: 18 Feb
Where: Daytona International Speedway, Daytona, Florida
NASCAR’s most prestigious race is a 200-lap battle of speed and skill watched by over 100,000 spectators at Daytona’s renowned track.
Bahrain Grand Prix
When: 29 Feb – 2 Mar
Where: Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir, Bahrain
Teams and their drivers descend on Bahrain’s desert circuit for the F1 season opener, set to be a nail-biting race with long straights, tight hairpins and fast, windy corners.

Ultra Music Festival

Holi
When: 25 Mar
Where: India
The ‘Festival of Colours’ marks the beginning of spring and the victory of good over evil, with revellers across India celebrating in the streets by throwing vibrant clouds of powdered dye.
Dubai World Cup

Where: Meydan Racecourse, Dubai

Primavera Sound

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup

24 Hours of Le Mans
When: 12-16 Jun
Where: Circuit de la Sarthe, Le Mans, France
The world’s oldest active endurance race tests the durability of sports cars and their drivers, as they speed around the track for 24 hours attempting to go further than their rivals.
US Open Golf Championship
When: 13-16 Jun
Where: Pinehurst Resort & Country Club, Pinehurst, North Carolina
The third major golf tournament of the year heads to North Carolina, with world number one Scottie Scheffler hoping to clinch his second major title.
Tour de France
When: 29 Jun – 21 Jul
Where: Italy, San Marino, Monaco and France
The multi-stage bicycle race takes riders through four mountain ranges, including the Alps and Pyrenees, before ending in Nice instead of Paris due to the Olympics Games.

British Open
When: 15-21 Jul
Where: Royal Troon, South Ayrshire, Scotland
The oldest golf tournament in the world is the final major golf championship of the year. American player Brian Harman won the event in 2023 with a score of 271.
Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games
When: 26 Jul – 11 Aug and 28 Aug – 8 Sep
Where: Paris, France
The international multi-sport event involves over 10,000 athletes from 206 nations, representing more than 28 sports across 329 events.

This prestigious car show brings together restored classic cars from around the world, with owners competing to win coveted titles like ‘Best of Show’ and ‘Most Elegant’.
Burning Man
When: 25 Aug - 2 Sep
Where: Black Rock City, Black Rock Desert, Nevada
Burning Man returns to the desert for a week of flamboyant costumes and live music. Its name comes from the symbolic burning of a large wooden effigy on the penultimate evening.
US Open Tennis Championships

The original F1 night race is one of the toughest, with a bumpy street circuit and humid conditions. Lewis Hamilton claims one lap requires double the energy needed in Monaco.
Oktoberfest
When: 21 Sep – 6 Oct
Where: Munich, Germany
The world’s largest Volkfest is back for another year of parades, food, music and, of course, beer. The event typically draws around six million people over its three-week run.
Monaco Yacht Show
When: 25-28 Sep
Where: Port Hercule, Monaco
The world’s largest annual gathering of superyachts sees hundreds of luxury vessels anchor in Port Hercole for a long weekend of glamour and innovation.

United States Grand Prix
